In his twenties, Tobias lives in Germany. He was the youngest of five children and early on developed a deep love for graffiti and illustration. This led him to beautiful Düsseldorf, where he successfully graduated in graphic design.
During his studies he was fascinated with custom lettering and type design. He fell deeply in love with this art-form. His work is identified by great attention to detail and stretches from filigree ornamental pieces in old-school style up to clean to modern designs with fancy elements. His major fields include branding, editorial illustrations and logo as well as poster design.
2017 became a turning point for this young artist when he published his first typeface, “Blackriver”. Over the last few years, type design and selling fonts has become the main part of his business. (Hence my encounter with him on www.creativemarket.com) He is currently working on his own type foundry including his own font shop.
What I like about the Brilon font is that it is elegant with a touch of whimsy yet delivers originality to the message. I use it mainly in my name and key headers within this website.
