Tobias Saul, a.k.a. the “font” man is not only incredibly young but equally talented.

In his twenties, Tobias lives in Germany. He was the youngest of five children and early on developed a deep love for graffiti and illustration. This led him to Düsseldorf, where he graduated in graphic design.

During his studies, he was fascinated with custom lettering and type design. His work is identified by great attention to detail and stretches from filigreed ornamental pieces in old-school style to clean to modern designs with fancy elements. His major fields include branding, editorial illustrations and logos, as well as poster design.

2017 became a turning point for this young artist when he published his first typeface, “Blackriver”.

Over the last few years, type design and selling fonts have become the main part of his business. (Hence my encounter with him on www.creativemarket.com) He is currently working on his own type foundry including his own font shop. Simply put, he is an inspiration!
